Day work based out of Cardiff Airport. Excellent driving skills are a must, coverage are can vary but likely to be Pembroke most days. Not Multidrop.
Raven Express Logistics, a reliable Air Freight Haulage company and Handling Agent, plans to take on additional drivers from time to time to help meet our customer needs.
Night driver rolls are Class C+E (Class 1) but consideration will be given to Class C (Class 2).
Monday to Friday Day or Nights available as are Sunday Day and Night Runs.
Forklift and HGV experience is desirable for these positions, but we also welcome applications from those with less experience.
Full time permanent position for the right candidates, may involve occasional day/night cover but always back to base each shift.
For HGV positions all applicants must have HGV experience, an up-to-date Driver CPC card, a checkable 5 year history and will need to undertake a CRB check and Aviation security training (Cargo operative). For Van positions a clean licence is a requirement.
The post.
- Driving roles based at Cardiff airport, drivers must perform and document daily vehicle checks before each departure
- Assist in safe loading/unloading of vehicles with correct freight
- Some physical lifting/sorting of boxes is involved but use equipment where possible
- Making sure loads are safely secured
- Driving courteously and safely at all times complete the required work within the time allowed by driver hour’s rules.
- Completing/Returning all delivery paperwork
- Days 08:00 to 17:00, payable monthly
- Nights 19:00 to 07:00, payable monthly
The person.
- Excellent driving skills and driver hours knowledge
- The ability to work alone and concentrate for long periods
- Be presentable with a polite manner with customers when picking up or dropping off loads and also with all other road users including vulnerable users such as Pedestrians, Horseriders, Motorcyclists and Cyclists
- A good understanding of safety, on the road and when loading and unloading
- The ability to complete record sheets and paperwork accurately
- A reasonable level of fitness to work with loads
- To be trustworthy and reliable
- Ability to work well as part of a team but also able to accept individual responsibility and see tasks through to the end.
- Fork lift licence desirable
